Mike Peyton, LMFT

My name is Mike Peyton. I received a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Michigan State University in 1991. I have worked in various settings as a therapist. I am currently licensed in Michigan and Utah. For 18 years I was involved in adolescent residential treatment. It comes naturally for me to work with youth and their parents. I have five children between the ages of 37 and 26.

I have done experiential therapy including equine-based treatment. This included many trips into the mountains of Utah on horseback. It seems to be true that social patterns among horses, dogs, and people are quite similar. I have done outpatient therapy for clients of all ages. I am trained in family systems so addressing relationships is a core part of what I can help with. I don’t think there are any mental health diagnoses or circumstances that I have not had experience with over the last 33 years. I like to treat trauma-based problems.

I am a certified EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapist. Working with others to help them gain clarity, confidence and a sense of inner peace is the most rewarding thing I have done.
